Making Conversations about money Count!
Our favourite subject.
"So setting your sights is important, right? And again, most people are just reactionary. They are not asking those questions of themselves. Cuz that means you have to like, turn off the TV and sit with it, right? " – Brandon Neely, Making Conversations Count – January 2023

Ahh, financial planning!
The process of creating a strategy to manage one's financial resources in order to achieve specific financial goals.
It can be a minefield if you don't get the right advice.
We've already had one financial expert on here giving some advice, but given the time of year, and amidst a recession, we figured we'd give you a fresher refresher.
Budgeting, saving, investing, insuring, and planning for retirement. Just some of the headache inducing financial considerations we need to be making to secure our futures.
And that's before we even touch on investment management, and moving around our various securities and assets, stocks, bonds, and real estate.
So that's why we need to take the lead on getting the best financial advice. And for this episode, that's coming from Brandon Neely.
The different kinds of wealth
But, financial planning isn't the only kind of wealth we should be focusing on.
We can also think about the wealth of relationships and friendships that we have in our lives. These are invaluable assets that cannot be replaced by any amount of money.
Investing in relationships is just as important as investing in our finances.
Taking time to nurture and build relationships with family members, friends, colleagues, and other people you care about can bring immense satisfaction and joy.
It can help us to feel more connected to others, which can lead to better mental health.
We should also consider the wealth of knowledge we possess or could gain from learning new skills and exploring new interests.
Finally, there is the wealth of experiences that life has to offer us – travelling, trying new activities, meeting different people from around the world – these all add immeasurable value to our lives that money simply cannot buy.
And that’s what this episode is all about.
Learning the various ways we can get ‘wealthier’ and put in place a strategy to achieve that wealth!
Robert Downey Jr’s Rolex collection
Brandon is discussing the topic of wealth and how it is perceived throughout the episode.
Interestingly, he gets super specific at one point, and brings up the example of Robert Downey Jr. and the expensive Rolex watches he buys.
Now we all know that Robert Downey Jr is a Hollywood megastar who has starred in several massive blockbuster movies and so wealth isn’t something that comes as a challenge to him.
But Brandon believes there is a difference between money and wealth, and that wealth is more than just buying expensive items like a $650,000 Rolex.
And do we detect a little philisophical thought around Robert Downey Jr. true happiness?…
